The New Job
Oct. 2nd, 2003 05:59 pmWell, my new job has started. The first day was v. interesting. I went to work Monday at 8:00 like a good new employee should. The Costume Shop was...strangely empty. "Where is everyone?" I wondered. Perhaps I was late. I waited awhile. Still, no one came to give me work and make me happy. Finally (ok, 20 minutes later), I went into Jerry the Production Manager's office to see what was going on. "Jerry," I said, "what is going on?" "Oh! It's Monday," Jerry replied, "The Costume Shop has Mondays off. Sorry 'bout that. Go on home!" So, I had my first day of work off. This actually was kind of nice because I hadn't felt like doing much exploring of the town the day before so I had a chance to do that instead. I also watched a lot of daytime T.V. which is always a good thing. Tuesday, I actually did have work. And now all is right with the world. I really like my job. My boss is nice and all of my coworkers are v. friendly. It's kinda cool, because the wig shop is in the same room as the costume shop, so I sort of get to hang out with the whole crew instead of being segregated like I ususally am. M. the millinery lady is, appropriately, a rather mad hatter and I find her extremely enjoyable. I'm sure I will be telling stories of her later. Now, off to find some food...
