A Shiny New Layout!
Jan. 10th, 2005 07:14 pmI had the day off today. This was esp. nice since we had to work yesterday. So I decided to fiddle with the journal some. It's helping me regain my faith in humanity which was dented a bit today. I was at the mall on a mission from God. I went to Sam Goody looking for Tchaikovsky's version of "Sleeping Beauty." The sale's clerk came ove to see if I needed help. And I did, cos the classical section was a mess. I told her what I was looking for and she looked at me like I had grown another head. Now, I realize that kid's today don't listen to art music. I accept this. I realize that not many 23 year olds think Christopher O'Reilly is hot (this is assuming there are any other 23 year olds who even know who he is). But come on people! It's Tchaikovsky! It's not like I asked for Torelli. Or, God forbid, Tcherepin. When she asked me to repeat what it was I wanted I said, "It's the ballet version of "Sleeping Beauty" composed by Tchaikovsky." she responded, rather brilliantly, "Oh, so that's instrumental, right?" *Sigh* She then confided that she didn't requests like this very often. I should have learned from this but when she asked if there was anything else I was looking for, I was actually honest. When I told her I was also looking for an album by a French group, she bravely soldiered on and tried to find it on the computer. Spelling the group's name was fun. We really bonded over that. So I had to leave without fulfilling my mission from God, and losing another little piece of my soul in the process. But then I talked to bookwench, and now I feel better!
