Sep. 16th, 2004 09:53 pmAs I have some time off of work, I went and spent some time with the lovely bookwench. We had a grand old time. I wish I could have stayed longer! Whilst sight-seeing, we rediscovered the lost art of rolling down hills. HOW could we have forgotten how much fun that is?! I highly recommend it to all. Especially if you add in the re-enactment of that pivotal scene from "The Princess Bride" where Buttercup pushes Westley. (Seriously, sir_gareth, you need to see this movie! It's so, so great!) Ah, yes. Good times. We also saw the most photographed site in Georgia which was very photogenic, and about 18,000 deer. No, really, there were, like, more deer than people.
I am now at my parents house, hiding from Ivan, as it were. Actually, I've been planning to come here for a while, it just happened that I was also conveniently escaping some bad weather. It's been quiet, but nice. I have my parents all to myself since my little sister moved out. We have big plans for tomorrow, assuming we don't get blown away tonight.

Date: 2004-09-17 07:29 am (UTC)I knew I adored you guys. Now I am contemplating where I can find an appropriate hill in Augusta to go roll down. AS.....YOU....WISH!
*snicker* Gareth is catching so much crap about his "The Princess Bride is a chick flick" comment. I love it. :D

Date: 2004-09-17 10:23 am (UTC)In 1987 I was attending an all-boys school with only one local movie theater close to my home. I can guarantee it never showed The Princess Bride or I would hae seen it. And the movie did not get good exposure on UK TV either. Or I would have seen it there as well.
Hence, I am guessing that it's not really as good as y'all are making out... because us Brits have far more discerning taste about such stuff.

Date: 2004-09-18 07:05 am (UTC)How long will you be at your parent's house? Well if you are there tonight( and you don't already have plans) a group of us HP fanatics are going to see POA one last time...it is now playing at the dollar theater near Gwinnett Place Mall. We are meeting at The Olive Garden (3565 Mall Blvd. Duluth, Ga) at 5:45 to have dinner and then heading over to the theater for the 8pm show. Email me at tldammann@hotmail.com if you are interesting in meeting us.
