Bumper Stickers

I saw this bumper sticker as I was driving around Montgomery trying to figure out where the hell I was: "1 cross + 3 nails = 4given." Now, I'm sure they're just trying to be clever, but surely each foot gets it's own nail. I mean if you were to stack one foot on top of the other, that would need a seriously huge nail. Surely there's a better way to crucify people. And if there was, the Romans would know it. History has shown that they were fairly adept at killing people. So, here's my idea for a better slogan: "1 deity + 3 aspects = 4given." See? While not quite as aesthetically pleasing it is nevertheless much more theologically sound. I think so anyway.

Yes those Romans certainly knew how to have a good time.
As for your bumper sticker, I don't think it would be much appreciated in the South. Do Baptists get the 3in1 thing? Decidedly Catholic if you ask me. Although it does make a lot of sense.
You know maybe they did only use one nail. But it would have had to be huge, you're right. At that size is it still a nail? Seems like it would be more of a spike. Is there a size limit for nails? Hmmm *ponders* It's late and I'm tired. Can you tell?

You know, the spike classification never occured to me, but you're right. I think at that point it would be a spike. But "1 cross + 2nails +1 spike= 4given" is even worse than what I came up with. I did ponder the whole Protestant issue, but I decided I didn't care. Catholics deserve crappy bumper stickers too.
