I went and saw my genius friend's play that he directed. It really was just so v. fab. I sometimes forget how wonderful my friends are until I see them again and am reminded. The show was four sketches from David Ives' "All in the Timing" I suppose it helps that I already love Ives, but M. really did do a nice job with the show. Just in the way he let each scene speak for itself while using a few little things to tie them all together. And the ubiquitous and requisite "Ragtime" reference worked into "Phillip Glass Buys a Loaf of Bread" which we all love even if everyone else does not! "Phillip Glass" is I think one of my favorites because it is so completely absurd and yet so v. heartbreaking, really much like a Glass piece. I'm v. glad M. chose to include it. All in all I had a nice little trip home although it was much too short. And I won't even be going back for Thanksgiving since we're all going to B'ham. Well, Christmas is (coming/ The goose is getting...ah! make it stop!) closer than we think and then I will have time to see everyone and do everything and all that!

So glad you got to go see M's production. Work has been my life lately. I live to far away and get off too late to make the 45 minute drive to G'ville. Oh, how I miss them! Who was the cast? Who all did you see? Any gossip I need? You share your secrets and I'll share my really cool news.
