This is late becuase I tried to find some pictures of the house, but couldn't. Ah well. OK, so most of my family lives in Birmingham. Not just in Birmingham, but for the most part in the same apartment building to be exact. So traditionally, we hold Thanksgiving in the party room of the building, 'cause hell, most of 'em are already there anyway. This year, however we had it in a new place. One of my second cousins (we are a large but v. close family) married this Ridiculously Rich Guy a couple years ago. Right now they live in Connecticut, but are planning on moving to Birmingham in a few years. Now RRG has apparently always wanted to buy the Swan House, this gigantic mansion/replica of an English manor that was built in the '20s by some other Ridiculously Rich Guy presumably named Swan. And lo and behold, it came up for sale. So he bought it. Even though they aren't moving for 4 years. My cousin's mom is living in the house until they move. O, my goodness I wish y'all could see this house! Parts of it were brought over from England and reassembled here. One room is the "Chaucer Library." One room was a tavern. One room, my favorite room, was a Norman banquet hall. Think of just about every medieval movie you've ever seen and you can picture the Norman room. It's massively huge. It has armor and animal heads mounted on the walls. It has an elevator! It came with an in-house staff! (Only of two, but still) It was like, Thanksgiving Royale. These people are so ridiculously rich it's well, ridiculous. But fun nonetheless b/c the party room was way too small for our family. We got to spread out this year. And eat in a banquet hall! I'm still gonna see if I can track down or scan some picture (good God, assuming I can figure out how!) 'cause y'all gotta see this.
So, things that I'm thankful for:
my friends, who listen to my random shit but still love me
my job, actually getting paid for having fun
the internet, for allowing me to waste my time so fruitfully
music
and finally, my family, esp. RRG for giving me such an entertaining Thanksgiving!

This has nothing to do with this post. HOWEVER, my boss' name is Eric Gura, so everyone writes notes to EG. So I think they are writing notes to Emily Grace.
So I had to tell you that.
I have also been listening to weezer. And let me tell you, that one song is SO unhealthy. ;)

Of course they are writing notes to me! I am the superior EG! Hahahahahaha!!
Which one song? 'Cause several of them are kinda unhealthy. I have decided to embrace Coldplay. And it is good.

ah of course! That second sentence I had to read a few times before it made any sense. 'Cause I'm stupid.
I recently (and belatedly) discovered "Pinkerton" so my current fav is "Pink Triangle" I just love self-deprecating humor!
